(poem example) Damien

Please note that this poem may be triggering to some. TW: loss of a child

I felt you growing all the way to month three.

Your energy and spirit, coursing through me.

I built you, created you, adored you,

But you couldn't hang on; It all fell through.

It was a trickle, then a chunk, then a waterfall. ,

As I led in that tub pleading for forgiveness,

My body rejected you.

Although you were so young and so small,

What a horrible Yule.

Your siblings followed in your footsteps

One loss after another

Just another misstep

I hope they join my brother

I surrender to the sickness

Across the rainbow bridge they rest

Knowing my body failed the test

Another clump of cells in the bin,

I give in.
