(fantasy example) who is it you pray to

Blissfully, the brunette leaves flutter in a furious breeze, as if a never-ending waterfall hung in the sky spitting them towards the earth. The trees bent and bowed to the wind, giving in to the ruler of the forest. Littered with pinecones punctuated with leaves; the forest floor was a thick blanket bursting with life and love for the brilliant life-giving stars.

Dawning a rose twiglet and twine dress, she skipped carelessly through the petal fields and moss blankets. Golden ringlets, accented with stars and sunrays, dazzled in the permanent moonlight, framing her porcelain face. Her pointed ears puetruded from the sea of gold while her eyes held ships on stormy seas battling each wave of grey, silver, and blue thrown at them. Her cheeks were kissed by the petals of spider lilies as frostbite gnawed at her velvety skin.

The forest had always been all for her to bask and play in. Yet here it was. a creature. a creature she had never seen before. Goats eyes, horns, and clawed hands, this creature towered over the girl, looming silently waiting, expecting. stationing itself motionless on the gravel path.

Her voice broke into a whimper as she sheepishly asked, "c-c-can I help you, mister?" Her tone and intent were immediately sucked from her voice, absorbed into the air as if they had never been there. "It's what I'll do for you." The creature growled as it began to twitch and shake. A mass of flowing, swirling, and humming light established itself as the creature waved its clawed hand. An arm peaked its grotesque leather flesh out of the sage silk garment that hung limply on the thing's frame; his bony face contorted into a smile as the corse feathers on its head stood to attention.

A twilight of dust and stars danced while outlining the pair of acquaintances as the forest floor and towering canopy was washed away. The figure boldly stepped forward and loomed over the frail girl, while belching a flat cackle. "who  is it you pray to?" the thing said, devoid of emotion. contorting, the thing clicked and cracked, broke and grunted spawning more leathery appendages from its flesh.

Now standing taller than the trees themselves, the ethereal creature summoned the skulls of forest creatures to its side. Spinning like a solar system and he was the sun, the girl was washed over with overwhelming tranquillity as her bare blackened feet left the floor . She drifted closer to the creature, as the endless void cycled around her. Arms out stretched the creature enveloped the girl. she braced as she felt the hide consume and absorb her while the world spun around re-morphing back into to woods she was oh so familiar with. as the creatures hooves hit the ground once more it lifted its pearl skull to the air. sniff sniff. satisfied the creature shrieked a shrill as a swirl of debris and leaves engulfed the creature and the forest was still once more.
